In Culture Arirang TV entertainment’s magazine program ‘Showbiz Extra’, a survey was conducted among 3000 members of the audience in more than 60 countries including United States, Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore. Super Junior emerged as the best male singers of 2009.

Super Junior had 41.9% of votes and beat Dong Bang Shin Ki (33.6%) to win the crown. Among the new singers, SHINee won with 57% of votes with 2nd and 3rd place going to 2PM (19.7%) and FT Island (15.6%) respectively.

Girl Generation was voted the best female singers and won with a vote of 29.65%. BoA (29.25%)who is currently active in the United States lost the 1st place narrowly by 0.4% .

Best newcomer went to Kim Bum whose popularity soared after acting in successful dramas like ‘East of Eden’ and ‘Boys over Flowers’. In the Best Male Actor category, Lee Jun Ki won with voted of 37.74% with Ran in 2nd place with 28.95%.

Song Hye Gyo (49.52%) easily clinched the win for Best Female actor as almost 50% of audience voted for her.
