Korea Broadcast and telecommunication assessment association has revealed that for June last month, they have received the highest amount of complaints and appeal about unsatisfactory music chart assessment.
They revealed that they have received a total of of 197 cases of complaints from views. And the complaints came mostly targeting at music chart shows.
And just complaints for KBS 2TV Music Bank K Chart complaints itself, thre are 67 cases of complaints.
It has been known that KBS is now currently investigating into the chart assessment system.
It has also been known that there are 24 cases of complaint for cable channel Mnet Scandal – Lee Hong Gi special, where he has to do filming even though he was unaware of the filming.

[News] 090730 Park Jisun Dates Lee Hongki With Her “1 VS 100″ Prize Money
Gag woman, Park Jisun, revealed that she bought Lee Hongki a meal using the prize money that she won in the KBS gameshow “1 vs 100″.
According to Park Jisun, Lee Hongki has always been a close friend and he even took the initiative to call and ask her for a treat upon knowing that she won the prize money. “I ran out in socks to meet him the moment he called and we had an enjoyable date,” she boasted.
She continued, “We received cold stares of jealousy from fans and many people were taking pictures of us. I was actually anticipating for news on our scandal but was disappointed because there weren’t any.”
Park Jisun also mentioned that she often encounter misunderstandings with idol members who are close to her. “I treat them as men but they treat me only as an older sister.”

And they got to pick which noona was their favourite (and vice versa, which boys were the favourites of the noonas (–> Hong and Hwan got the most votes from the noonas ^__^) )
A lot of fan-service actions here, especially from JaeHyun couple. All in all, the boys were really adorable in the show.

[News] 090729 FT Island, Voted Best Idol In Choi Hwajung’s Power Time “Summer Vacation! Idol Special”
FT Island came in 1st position in the special segment of the radio show, Choi Hwajung’s Power Time “Summer Vacation! Idol Special” held last week as the best idol star, defeating SHINee, 2PM, 4Minute, IU, Outsider and other top idol stars.
During the radio show, FT Island members shared many interesting topics with the listeners and also performed their title song “Barae” and debut song “Lovesick” live.
Upon learning the good news, FT Island expressed that they’re very happy and it was good that everyone enjoyed listening to the programme. If given another chance, they would want to go on the radio show again. They also thanked the fans who left messages for them.
FT Island’s new title song “Barae” topped various online music charts like M.net and Cyworld, the moment it was released. Their popularity rises once again with their frequent appearance on music programmes and variety shows.

The second line-up for ‘Incheon Korean Wave Festival’ which will be held in Incheon Literary Stadium on August 22 (Saturday), has been determined.
The first line-up : Super Junior, Girl Generation, 2PM, SS501, and Kara The second line-up : ‘Lee Min-Woo’, MC Mong, FTP Island, ‘Lee Jeong-Hyun’, Chae Yon.
So far, the organizers are in conference with the Rain side on whether Rain can attend.
*Free tickets available exclusively to applicants who apply for participation through G Market which is to open from the beginning of August, will be distributed.

In Korea, the song genre “Ballad” has literally disappeared from sight. Instead dance music has been dominating the kpop industry especially this summer.
Ballads have long disappeared from music charts and record sales charts. Music sites such as melons, Mnet, Bugs top 20 ranked songs have only 2 ballads. The same goes for sales. Aggregate sales as seen in Hanteo album charts has been dominated by 2NE1, Drunken Tiger, Epik high, MC Mong, FT Island, Brown Eyed Girls and Girls’ Generation.
This phenomenon has been continuing since the beginning of the year. This year, the popular genre of music is hiphop and dance music. Popular songs in 2009 include So Nyeo Shi Dae’s “Gee” and “Tell Me Your Wish”, Davichi’s “8282″, Super Junior’s “Sorry Sorry”, Big Bang & 2NE1’s “Lollipop”, 2NE1’s “Fire” and “I Don’t Care”, MC Mong’s “Indian Boy” and Outsider’s “Alone”.
Even Ballad Queen Baek Ji Young is following the trend and is slated to comeback this summer with a dance music album.
The reason hiphop and dance music is popular nowadays is because of the colourful visuals and exciting performance portrayed, which is perfect for the summer and pleasing to the ears and eyes of the audience. However, not to worry, as Autumn and Winter approaches, ballads are expected to return.

[News] 090728 FT Island, Popularity & Grades Are Two Different Issues?
Members of FT Island are worried about their school grades.
The band has recently released their latest album “Cross & Change” and is now busy with their promotional activities.
Due to their busy schedules, their performance in school dropped. Fans are greatly concerned as 3 of the members are taking their university entrance exam this year.
Currently, besides Choi Jonghoon (Kyunggi University) & Lee Hongki (Kyung Hee University) who are undergraduates, the rest are still in high school.
Person-in-charge said that, “The members are doing promotions within the country as well as overseas. It is difficult to stay committed to their studies. Even so, Lee Jaejin’s grades are the best among the members. The other members are doing their very best too.”
FT Island is planning to start their Asia tour in October, making fans excited and worrying for them at the same time.

[News] 090728 FT Island, Is It Necessary To Graduate From High School?
5 member band, FT Island, expresses their views on whether idols should give up their studies for career.
In a recent interview with Money Today Star News, FT Island shared with us how they handle both their studies and career.
Members, Choi Jonghoon and Lee Hongki are currently undergraduates while Choi Minhwan, Song Seunghyun and Lee Jaejin are still high school students. We see a clear difference in their way of thinking.
Current undergraduates, Choi Jonghoon and Lee Hongki gave their stand that, “It is necessary to graduate from high school.”
Lee Hongki expressed that, “It’ll be good if the school can help their students to realize their dreams. It’s not about instilling knowledge from the course books, it’s about helping each and every individual to realize their dreams through various forms of education.”
However, members who are still in high school, Song Seunghyun, Choi Minhwan and Lee Jaejin expressed that, “We support the idea of idols giving up their studies.”
Choi Minhwan added on, “In the entertainment industry, we get to learn things that we can’t learn in school. So I think it will be a better choice. It’ll tiring to handle both studies and career at the same time because we will want to do our best in everything.”
Lee Jaejin said, “Things that we learn in high school are not being used practically. However, to realize your dream, you will still have to continue to do self-study.”
FT Island’s latest album “Cross & Change” is out in stores and they are currently promoting the title song “Barae (I Hope)”.

FT Island talks about education
In a recent interview, FT Island gave their thoughts on giving up high school edication, as well as how difficult it is to combine school and work.
Currently, members Choi Jung Hun, Lee Hong Ki and Jae Jin are attending university while Seung Hyun and Min Hwan are in high school. There was a difference of opinions between the university students versus the ones that are in high school.
Jong Hun and Hong Ki expressed, “We should attend high school education.” Hongki said, “Through education, we can make our dreams come true.”
But high school students, Min Hwan, Jae Jin and Seung Hyun objected, “We do not support what he said about high school education.”
Choi Min Hwan said, ” There are many things about life that we cannot learn through education. It is difficult to combine out school life and being in the entertainment industry.” Jae Jin continued, ” We can still self-study, in order to achieve our dreams in music. Learning the subjects in high school does not change our social life significantly.”
